I've been ordering out from Northern China for over 20 years (back when the combo A was less than 10). The food is great and the service is excellent. They've never made a mistake with any of my orders and the food has been consistent throughout the years. It's one of the few places in Anchorage I frequent on a regular basis.
My dad & I stopped here & it's a nice place! Plenty of seating & booths. The menu is built into the tables which i thought was really cool. The front doors were cool too. Lots of things to order on their menu. We ordered our food and it didn't take but 10 min to get it which was awesome. The food was fresh & hot and the quanity was great for the price. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken Spicy. Will definitely stop by again, next time I'm their neck of the woods and we're craving good Chinese cuisine.
We will drive across town just to eat Northern China. Our food always comes out hot. The staff are friendly. The atmosphere is a bit outdated but clean.
I used to eat here frequently in the 1980s. Much to my surprise and pleasure Northern China Restaurant is still operating with its classic recipe delights - and it’s just as good. Affordable price points; diverse Chinese-centric menu; attentive staff; clean and comfortable atmosphere.Delicious and well-worth lunch, dinner, or take-out. And the photos don’t do the taste justice. You won’t be disappointed.
I am coming from Virginia and this place has better quality food than anywhere where I'm from. I'd love to suggest this place to anyone local or traveling to Anchorage, very tasty and had all the elements in texture and all. 12 out of 10 stars.
Had the sesame chicken. It was tasty and made very well. The staff was very nice and courteous. The restaurant was a little dark and a little old, however the overall experience was very good.
Best place on Eastside for authentic food, very nice Owner, cooks are veterans.
My husband and I went here on a whim and it did not disappoint! I do not know how this Jewel is so hidden. Northern China Restaurant hands down has the best Chinese food in Anchorage!! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The space is clean and open. The service is wonderful. Prices are average. Our food was brought out to us in a timely manner. Our food was on point! We ordered the Crab Rangoon, Mongolian Beef and Sesame combo, and the Braised Shimp and Szechuan Chicken combo to share and sample multiple dishes. It was filling and delicious with enough food to take home. As I was there I was already texting my people telling them about this great place! Knowing that it's a family owned restaurant makes it that much better.
